The Best of Friends® program at UOW

The Quirky Kid Clinic and the University of Wollongong (UOW) are conducting a research study to evaluate the efficacy of The Best of Friends® program in building children’s social and emotional competencies and are inviting children aged 7 to 11 years old, and their parents, to participate.

The team will be recruiting 64 participants to participate in weekly one-hour workshops during Term 1 and  Term 2, 2018 at the Early Start building (University of Wollongong campus). To be eligible, participants must be experiencing some friendship difficulties.

Participants will receive The Best of Friends® interactive workbook, featuring stories about friendship, role plays, craft activities and fieldwork for home and school to boost children’s social and emotional learning.

The research protocol was approved by the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network Human Research Ethics Committee. The cost is $150 for the 10-week program (instead of the $RRP of $940) delivered by a trained facilitator.
